Term 4 in the Nursery School
By Tracy Coutts
(Director of the Nursery School)
Term 4 has started with a keen interest in all kinds of animals: their names, habitats and the country from which they come. We have looked at jungle animals, animals in general and now Australian Animals.
The sand pit has also been a hive of activity this term. With PVC pipes of varying lengths and thicknesses many of the 3’s and 4’s have spent an amazing amount of time designing and constructing water machines, barges and rivers.
The 4’s have also started their Orientation into the 5’s. Each Monday morning the 4’s have visited the 5’s for 1/2 hour to have a play, maybe a story and to get to know Meg and Charin. Everyone has had a great time!
The 3’s and 4’s are still looking for more PVC piping for their creations in the sand pit and also plastic lids and bottle tops. Thanks!

T-shirt for the Arlington Strings
There was a suggestion to design and produce a T-shirt that strings players could wear. Stella from the 8s/9s has come up with some wonderful designs which include the option of either a speech bubble or star on the front of the T-shirt and the children in the group have selected their preferred design of the speech bubble. Here is the quote from Stella regarding her approach:
‘The star is because we are all stars and the speech bubble is because music is about singing and communicating’. Some of the parents are undertaking getting the T-shirts printed and will let you know when they are available to purchase.
