DIZZY’S JAZZ NIGHT

On Monday 18 May parents, students and teachers were treated to an extraordinary concert at Dizzy’s Jazz Club in Richmond.

Dizzy’s was the perfect venue for our many amazing musicians to share their love of music. Parents were entertained by a variety of groups, duos and solos while sipping a glass of wine or eating a delicious dinner.

The night started with the Big Group performing “Uptown Funk”.

Flying for a Prize Choir sang a beautiful rendition of “You Make Me Feel So Young.”

Jemima Tonkin stole our hearts with her jazz version of, “You Are My Sunshine”.

The Stellas, a girl band from Year 7, performed their third hit song, “King and Lionheart.”

Mia Palmer, together with her band, jazzed it up with “Rolling in the Deep”.

The Brass Effect relaxed the mood with the classic, “Mack the Knife”.

Ryn dazzled us all with her rendition of “Orange Coloured Sky” accompanied by a wandering violin line played by Atilla Kuti.

The Year 8 class band warmed the room with their arrangement of “Feeling Good”.

Juliette Wilson’s version of “God Bless the Child” sent chills down everyone’s spine.

Lucinda Greene changed the mood with her fabulous saxophone solo, “Prince Charming”.

Pavement Choir melted hearts with their rendition of the classic, “Moon River”.

Georgia Goodall transformed the room with her fine band singing, “The Work Song”.

Soul Donkey dazzled everyone with their own composition, “Morning Song”, with the obligatory brass section.

Veronica Greene owned the stage with “You Don’t Own Me”.

Celine Saban-Friend cared for everyone with her rendition of “Baby Just Cares For Me”.

Ben Carr’s Jazz Band filled the room with their version of “Bernie’s Song”. Unfortunately their pianist Gulliver Poole was ill and unable to perform so Adrian Perger tickled the ivories in the Gulliver style.

Jack Flanagan lit up the room with an Arianna Grande medley.

The Senior Jazz Band brought down the house with a super hot rendition of “Moondance” led by Michelle Berner. (Unfortunately, Emily Wilson was not able to sing with the band as she was also unwell.)

It was a fabulous night of enthusiastic music making that had everyone clapping and cheering in their seats (and some standing up!).
