Cafe Preshil Blog

On Wednesday at Arlington we held another amazing café with so many delicious treats being shared. The sun shone, conversation flowed and we happily offered baked goods, our popular chia puddings and bliss balls, fresh orange juice and, of course, coffee.

We also had some lovely local produce including homemade granola, fresh herbs, fresh fruit, homemade marmalade and ground coffee. Our Ping and Friends fresh laid eggs were a huge hit, selling out within minutes!

Many asked for the recipe for the bliss balls, which is as follows:

1/2 cup tahini

1/2 cup organic raw honey, melted

1/2 cup ground flax seed

1/2 cup goji berries

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

2 tablespoons cacao nibs

1/2 cup hemp seeds

1/4 cup chia seeds

pinch of salt

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 cup shredded coconut plus more to roll in

Mix all the ingredients together and squeeze tightly to form into small balls. Roll in coconut or sesame seeds. Enjoy!

Our next café will be held on the front verandah of Blackhall on Wednesday 18 March from 8.30am. We have already checked the weather and blue skies and 29 degrees is forecast. We hope that you will all be able to make it and encourage your friends to join you at the café.

We welcome all contributions to the café so if you are prepared to bake or make, we would be most grateful. If you are able to bring something along for the café on Wednesday, please contact Nerel Ezra on  0410 324 191 or at nezra@preshil.vic.edu.au
